One of the services I offer is translation between English and Danish.

I’ve always found languages fascinating, which is why I chose to study among others English. I see English as my second language. When I was only 16 years old I went on an exchange to New Zealand for a year. One year without any Danish, except for 10 phonecalls and mail. Keep in mind, this was before the year 2000 and letters was still my preferred way of communicating. Now the online world has taken me in and made my life a whole lot different from 15 years ago. Already 2 years after my New Zealand exchange I went to Australia. At this point my preferred way of communication was e-mailing.
The commencement of the computer and the internet has made everything much easier, for instance to amass information. This way it is both faster and easier to gather information on what ever topic that might interest you or building a corpus of texts to use as source. You just always have to be critical of what you find on the internet.
Besides languages I have also been studying cultures, this both during my studies and privately. From my point of view, you also need to know the culture of which you are communicating with. This way you make sure that no misunderstandings occur communication wise and it helps you build a stronger relationship with somebody.
